I just smiled silently. I wished I could get closer to the railing, to see the fish better, but I was afraid of falling in...it was safe, but being so close to deep water made me nervous.

"...maybe one day. But its too cold, and I dont know cpr or anything..." I got a little stiff because we were so close to the edge, but I slowly relaxed.

I blushed lightly. Then I started to wonder what Katie was thinking right now. She hadn't said anything for a while, and I wasn't sure if it was a good silence or a bad one.

"paperwork, housing, food, hospital bills, your health!" i said, listing off a few of them as i looked at her "and what if our child happens to be a boy? he will be taken away from us unless we are very lucky, and i dont think even I could prevent that fate... i dont want any child of mine having such a horible childhood..." i whispered to her
