"I remember the first time you guys were up against the cyborg slaver people, the Captain mentioned to do everything legal...What do you mean?" I asked.

He sighed. "Its been awhile...but I guess we cant really cover it much longer..."

"What do you mean?" I asked nervously, for some reason thinking 5 minutes 18 seconds. Lately, whenever I thought of something, I thought time. When I was younger that was just a vague sense I ignored...

"A problem? Are you sure? Dane is the one who's normally checking that..." The Captain answered, perplexed.

"standard scans wouldnt pick it up, and i mainly detected it by his room.... the threat isnt biological.... i think something is spying on us in the vents.... im surprised i heard it at all with their singing going on..... he would have to do illegal scans or something..." i said, showing her the data and sound recordings i had from a few minutes ago

She bit her lip. "I doubt a serious threat, but whatever is watching must be removed from the ship."

Suddenly, lights went off. "Aw great, not again! Motor mites!"

"...Motor mites?"

"We call them that 'cause theyre pretty small robots and tend to damage mainly the engine. Theyre not organic, but theyre as much as a pain as the normal critters. But how'd they get in..." He grabbed a laser gun like weapon. "Good thing theyre fragile. " He spoke to a mic on his wrist. "Captain, someone dropped in motor mites again!"

"Meh, again!?" She answered.

"Toooooold you...." i said simply over the intercom "ill meet you guys at the engine room, thats where they seem to be gathering judging by the sound.... and Rei, sign what i just said to him please" i said, my eyes immediately adjusting to the darkness, and i breathed, grabbing a long metal bar from the supplies closet i passed, and made my mind up that i needed to get a real weapon soon

I stayed behind with Warning, while Dane and the Captain arrived to the engine room. "These things are pretty violent when disturbed. They also burst as soon as they have no more corrosive liquid. Be careful." The motor mites in question resembled a combination of daddy long legs, preying mantis and a beetle like shell, full of liquid.

"alright...." i said, opening the door quickly and tossed the plate inside, and watched them swarm it, trying to get it disolved, and began throwing more random items i knew we didnt need in the room

The Captain and Dane began to power up their weapons, firing at the motor mites, which turned to metal powder. The non injured ones began to dissolve the remains, swarming those instead. "Theyre designed to attack functioning, or once funcioning, machines. Though them attacking metal objects thrown at them seems a convenient bug in their programming," Dane explained. "Though they will attack us if we get too close..."
